Job summary

Great West Casualty Company is seeking an Entry Level Associate Claims Specialist for Physical Damage & Cargo to join the team in South Sioux City, NE or Boise, ID. You will investigate and resolve claims, reviewing coverage and guiding insureds through the process, while coordinating towing, recovery, and repairs.

The role includes after-hours on-call support and extensive on-the-job training. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and demonstrates strong problem-solving,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Prev claims experience or trucking/insurance exposure preferred but not required.
• Strong problem-solving, investigation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and document accident details involving commercial vehicles and cargo losses.
• Review policy coverage and determine applicable physical damage and cargo benefits.
• Guide insureds through the claims process, including coordinating towing, recovery, cargo transfers, and repair services.
• Gather and review repair estimates, cargo evaluations, photographs, and other claim documentation.
• Establish appropriate claim reserves based on damages, exposures, and policy provisions.
• Work with independent adjusters to obtain inspections, photographs, and other necessary information.
• Collaborate with attorneys and other business partners to address coverage concerns and resolve claim issues.
• Negotiate settlements and issue timely claim payments.
• Identify subrogation and salvage opportunities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Participate in an after-hours rotation to assist with emergency physical damage and cargo loss reports.
