Job summary

The County of Riverside Flood Control District is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to lead planning, design, and construction of flood control facilities across multiple divisions in Riverside. You will supervise engineers, review hydrology studies, and prepare bid documents while coordinating with utilities and agencies.

A PE license in CA is required, with opportunities for telecommuting one day per week after training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
• Two years of professional civil engineering experience, including one year in planning, design or construction of flood control projects.
• Licensed Civil Engineer (PE) in California is required.
• Experience leading teams and coordinating multi-disciplinary reviews.
• Proficiency in hydrology/hydraulic analyses and standard software tools.

Responsibilities

• Assign and direct work in planning, design, and construction of flood control projects.
• Supervise office staff in data analysis and drawing preparation.
• Perform or review stress analyses of bridges and hydraulic structures.
• Review plans for compliance with codes and regulations.
• Prepare contract documents, bids and change orders.
• Coordinate with public utilities and other agencies.
• Maintain records of survey, construction progress, budgets and expenditures.
