We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for engineers with 3–7 years of experience in storm drainage, flood control, hydrology, and hydraulics who are looking to expand their technical expertise while working on a diverse mix of land development and public infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will apply your engineering skills to storm drainage, flood control, and water resources projects while collaborating with experienced engineers on projects throughout California. Depending on your experience, you will work independently or under the guidance of senior engineers while gaining exposure to hydrology, hydraulics, utility infrastructure, and civil site development.
Responsibilities
- Design storm drain systems, open channel and closed conduit hydraulic systems, and surface hydrology solutions.
- Prepare stormwater management plans, master drainage studies, and flood control designs.
- Perform rainfall runoff analyses and 1D/2D hydraulic modeling.
- Support drainage and flood control design for both public infrastructure and private land development projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, exhibits, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with project teams, clients, and public agencies throughout project delivery.
- Assist with project management and design for land development and public infrastructure projects.
- Support permitting efforts and regulatory agency coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited university.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California.
- 3–7 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, storm drainage, and flood control engineering within California.
- Experience designing stormwater systems for land development and public infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, XPStorm, Innovyze, WaterCAD, or similar hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with master drainage planning and flood studies.
- Knowledge of California stormwater regulations and permitting requirements.
- Experience coordinating with local municipalities and public agencies.
- Project management experience or demonstrated leadership potential.
