Job summary

HirexHire is seeking an entry-level Associate Chemist for their East Providence, RI location to support test work, verify existing formulations, and assist with formulation of products within the chemistry group. This onsite role focuses on product quality, cost savings, and waste reduction for customers.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or has 3+ years in coatings, with strong communication and data-handling skills, and basic Excel/SAP

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related science
• In lieu of Associates degree, 3+ years’ experience in a directly related field, ideally within the coatings Industry.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to interpret information, follow safety procedures, and present to groups.
• Some knowledge & proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP (preferred).
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain records and data files (lab notebooks, project files, materials, equipment).
• Support formulation and testing for lab project work.
• Develop knowledge of testing equipment to support projects.
• Investigate and develop methods and procedures for application or process control.
• Prepare chemical mixtures following standardized formulas or procedures.
• Document test results using software and handwritten records.
• Generate regular status reports on ongoing projects.
• Analyze test data using computer software programs.
