Job summary

Our client in East Providence, RI is seeking an Associate Chemist to support lab test work, formulations and verification of current products. This entry-level role will work onsite in a fast-paced chemistry lab environment, assisting with product quality, waste reduction, and customer-driven end-use validation.

The position requires an Associate degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or 3+ years' related experience) and strong communication, math, and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or related science.
• In lieu of an Associate degree, 3+ years’ experience in a related field.
• Strong communication, presentation and safety reading skills.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to problems.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy in written and verbal work.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain lab records, notebooks, project files and materials.
• Support formulation and testing for lab projects.
• Develop working knowledge of physical testing equipment for projects.
• Investigate methods and procedures for applications and process control.
• Prepare chemical mixtures according to standard formulas or procedures.
• Document test results using software and handwritten records.
• Generate regular status reports on ongoing projects.
• Analyze test data using computer software.
