Associate Center Clinical Director
The Associate Center Clinical Director directly supervises and trains primary care providers (PCPs) in his/her assigned center, maximizing core model execution through improved clinical quality, efficiency, outcomes, and clinician/patient satisfaction. The role combines direct patient care as a PCP with leadership responsibilities in PCP performance, engagement, and cultivating a strong clinical-operations synergy and culture.
Responsibilities
- Independently provide care for older adult patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
- Take full accountability for patient care and outcomes, seeking specialist consultation when necessary.
- Engage hospitalists for patients in the hospital, regardless of affiliation.
- Conduct assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, care coordination, and documentation for patients with complex chronic health needs.
- Lead the care team including a medical assistant, care facilitator, and care coordinator for patients able to attend the office.
- For patients who cannot come to the office, coordinate with transitional care teams, case managers, and other resources as appropriate.
- Lead the weekly Super Huddle (SH) and Transforming Care Meeting (TCM) and support center leadership when the market clinical leader is unavailable.
- Fill in for center clinical leadership duties, monitor daily center census, and contribute to overall center accountability for outcomes.
- Recruit patients for the center and interview additional providers for the organization.
- Mentor and coach PCPs to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes, including sampling other PCPs’ daily huddles.
- Participate in leadership rounding with PCPs.
- Partner with the Center Operations Director/Market General Manager to improve center financial performance and increase member enrollment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant applications.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally as needed, nationally for initial training (2 weeks), and occasionally regionally or nationally for recruiting or training.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written); other languages may be required depending on the center.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Education and Experience Criteria
- MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty.
- Current, active MD licensure in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 1‑year clinical experience in a geriatric, adult, or family practice setting (preferred).
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty (preferred). Board eligibility is required.
- Maintenance of board certification through MOC, CME, or retaking exams as required.
- Current DEA number for schedule II–V controlled substances.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required within the first 90 days of employment.
Pay Range
Salary range: $238,832 – $341,189. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors and may include bonuses or commissions.
