East West Bank is seeking an Associate Banker to join its customer-centric team in Oakland. You will help clients with everyday financial needs and connect them to Wealth Management, Mortgage, and Commercial experts.

The role emphasizes digital banking, training, and building long-term relationships with customers while supporting branch goals.

A high school diploma is required, with bachelor’s preferred; 1 year of customer service and cash handling experience expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year of customer service and cash handling experience.
• 1 year of teller/new account experience in banking preferred.
• Ability to learn products, services, and procedures quickly.
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with financial transactions such as cash withdrawals, deposits, transfers, loan/credit card payments, wire transfers and foreign currency exchange
• Document large deposits for Currency Transaction Reports
• Identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential loss to the bank
• Ensure transactions are completed accurately and in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain relationships with existing customers and cultivate new customer relationships
• Cross-sell bank products such as depository products, wealth management, mortgage that fit customers’ needs
• Educate clients on online banking, mobile app, and self-service portals
• Learn and adapt to new processes and technology platforms quickly
• May perform other duties as assigned
