Job summary

East West Bank is seeking an Associate Banker to assist customers with everyday financial needs and to introduce them to our suite of banking services. You will help process transactions, support digital banking usage, and connect clients with experts in Wealth, Mortgage and Commercial Banking.

The role emphasizes strong service, accuracy, and the ability to learn new technologies and procedures quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
1 year of recent customer service and cash handling experience
1 year of teller / new account experience preferred
Ability to learn products, services and procedures quickly; Excellent customer service
Strong attention to detail and time management
Proficiency in Word and Excel
Flexibility to work on weekends when needed

Responsibilities

Demonstrate strong customer service skills; assist customers with financial transactions such as cash withdrawals, deposits, transfers, loan/credit card payments, wire transfers and foreign currency exchange
Document large deposits and report currency activities
Identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential loss to the bank
Ensure transactions comply with policies, procedures, and regulatory banking requirements
Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and cultivate new relationships
Cross sell and refer bank products such as depository products, wealth management, mortgage
Use digital resources and technologies to optimize clients’ digital banking experience
Educate clients on banking online, via mobile app and self-service portals
Learn and adapt to new processes and technology platforms quickly
May perform other duties as assigned
