Job summary

Nilan Johnson Lewis PA seeks an Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of labor and employment experience to support our Labor & Employment group’s litigation, class actions, restrictive covenant/trade secret matters, and advisory services.

The role requires Minnesota admission (or eligibility) and a proven track record in research and writing, with strong interpersonal skills and leadership potential for direct client contact. California admission is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be admitted to practice in Minnesota (or eligible for admission by Minnesota).
• 2-4 years labor and employment advisory and/or litigation experience.
• Exceptional research and writing abilities and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with readiness for direct client contact.
• Experience defending class action or complex litigation is a plus; CA admission is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support labor & employment litigation, class actions, restrictive covenant/trade secret litigation, and advisory practices.
• Participate in strategy development and client communications.
• Contribute to defense and advisory work across matters handled by the Labor & Employment group.

Qualifications:

• Must be admitted to practice in Minnesota (or eligible for admission by practice in Minnesota).
• 2-4 years labor and employment advisory and/or litigation experience required.
• Exceptional research and writing abilities and analytical skills required.
• Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills and experience with, or readiness for, direct client contact.
• Experience defending class action or other complex litigation matters is a plus, as is admission to practice in California or interest in seeking such admission.

Compensation:

We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

The salary range for this position is: $195,000 – $200,000 annually. This range reflects the base salary for this position based on an 1800 Billable Expectation. Associates (with input from practice group leadership and the Board) will set a Billable Expectation between 1600-1800 billable hours annually. A Billable Expectation less than 1800 hours results in a pro-rated salary.
