Job summary

Lawyers for Justice in Minnesota seeks an experienced attorney to represent clients in wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions against regional and Fortune 500 companies.

The successful candidate will manage an active caseload, conduct discovery, take and defend depositions, draft and argue motions, and appear in court for hearings and trials while advising clients through every stage of litigation.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota or pending admission in another U.S. jurisdiction.
• Ideal candidate will be licensed in Minnesota with 5+ years of civil litigation experience, including discovery, oral advocacy, Court appearances, motions, and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage-and-hour litigation is a plus.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Description

The Attorney will represent and advocate on behalf of clients in state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing an active caseload; conducting and responding to discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing motions; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and advising clients throughout the litigation process. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, experienced litigator who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in Minnesota or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to Minnesota.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Minnesota and have 5+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.
