Job summary

Lawyers for Justice seeks a Minnesota-licensed Senior Attorney to manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. You will also provide guidance and oversight to associate attorneys.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record in complex or class action litigation, is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for clients. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minnesota bar license or pending admission in Minnesota.
• 8+ years of civil litigation experience, including discovery, oral advocacy and motions.
• Experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage-hour matters is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a caseload of wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies.
• Provide guidance and oversight to associate attorneys.
• Develop case strategy; conduct and respond to complex discovery; take and defend depositions.
• Draft and argue dispositive and class certification motions; lead settlement negotiations.
• Appear in court for hearings and trial; mentor junior attorneys on litigation best practices.

Description

The Senior Attorney will manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies, while also providing guidance and oversight to associate attorneys. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing case strategy; conducting and responding to complex discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing dispositive and class certification motions; leading settlement negotiations; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and mentoring junior attorneys on litigation best practices. Our agenda is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, highly experienced litigator with a strong track record in complex or class action litigation who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in Minnesota or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to Minnesota.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Minnesota and have minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.

License/Certification
