Job summary

Lawyers for Justice in Minnesota is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to support state and federal wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions. You will conduct legal research, draft pleadings and motions, and assist with depositions under senior attorney guidance.

The ideal candidate is admitted in Minnesota (or pending admission) with 1–3 years of civil litigation experience and a willingness to travel. Excellent organization and client communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Minnesota or pending admission.
• 1-3 years of civil litigation experience, including discovery, oral advocacy, court appearances, motions, and depositions.
• Experience with class actions, complex litigation, wage-and-hour cases is a plus.
• Ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research; draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Assist with deposition preparation and attendance; prepare for and appear at court hearings.

Description

The Associate Attorney will support and assist in the representation of clients in state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting legal research; drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses; assisting with deposition preparation and attendance; preparing for and appearing at court hearings; and communicating with clients under the guidance of senior attorneys. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed attorney who is organized, professional, eager to learn, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in Minnesota (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the Minnesota Bar.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Minnesota and have 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.
