Job summary

Johanson, Fairless & Taylor, LLP is a respected civil litigation firm seeking an experienced Associate Attorney for our Sugar Land, Texas office. The role offers hands-on experience, direct client interaction, and opportunities for advancement based on performance.

Responsibilities include managing active cases from inception to resolution, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, handling discovery, and participating in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in Texas.
• 3–5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Manage an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
• Draft and respond to written discovery and develop strategic discovery plans.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies in collaboration with partners.
• Communicate effectively with clients and provide timely case status reports.
• Maintain accurate billing entries and comply with case management requirements.
• Meet minimum monthly billing requirements.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and achieve successful outcomes.

Our practice includes a wide variety of personal injury, property damage, and breach of contract claims. We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team in our Sugar Land, Texas office.
