Job summary

Johanson, Fairless & Taylor, LLP in Sugar Land, TX seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join our civil litigation team. You will handle an active caseload from inception through resolution, perform legal research, draft pleadings and briefs, and participate in depositions and trials.

Qualifications

• Active Texas law license or eligibility.
• 3–5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Professionalism, integrity and client service commitment.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
• Draft and respond to written discovery and develop strategic discovery plans.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies in collaboration with partners.
• Communicate effectively with clients and provide timely case status reports.
• Maintain accurate billing entries and comply with case management requirements.
• Meet minimum monthly billing requirements.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and achieve successful outcomes.
