Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP in New York seeks an associate attorney to join our nationwide insurance coverage practice. You'll represent policyholders, review policies, handle claims, and help draft indemnity and insurance provisions.

The ideal candidate has a J.D., NY Bar admission, 3–7 years in Insurance Recovery/Litigation, and strong analytical and writing skills. We offer a collaborative culture, development programs, mentorship, and competitive compensation.

About the Role

Our insurance coverage practice is nationwide in scope and assists policyholder clients in resolving complex insurance coverage disputes, securing carrier participation in defense and settlement of claims, and maximizing insurance recoveries. Our team advises on the full spectrum of insurance coverage issue areas, including general liability, excess/umbrella, professional, pollution, cyber, auto, property, builders' risk, employee dishonesty, directors and officers, and wrap-up programs, among others.

What You'll Do

Represent policyholders in insurance coverage matters, including reviewing insurance policies, handling claims, litigating insurance coverage disputes, and/or drafting contractual indemnity and insurance provisions.

What We're Looking For

• A J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility for admission)
• Three to seven years of experience, preferably in Insurance Recovery, Counseling & Litigation
• Experience with insurance policies, coverage issues, particularly construction insurance coverage, and litigation and/or corporate transactional work is a plus
• Strong and effective analytical, writing, and overall communication skills
• A client-service orientation and a desire to develop business over time
• A self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills who is comfortable managing multiple matters simultaneously
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Compensation

Salary range: $115,000-$155,000/year. This is a good faith estimate for the position based on location and minimum criteria. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
