A Texas law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to advise local governmental entities, including cities, utility districts, emergency services districts, and other special districts. Their attorneys serve as trusted advisors on governance, contracts, development, regulatory compliance, elections, public finance, and administrative proceedings.

Public sector experience is not required but transactional or contracts law is, and they are willing to train attorneys who enjoy client interaction and

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Texas Bar license or ability to become licensed in Texas.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel to client meetings and events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Advise governmental entities on legal, policy, and governance matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
  • Prepare resolutions, orders, meeting agendas, minutes, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical recommendations regarding risk, compliance, and strategy.
  • Attend and participate in board meetings, public hearings, and other governmental proceedings.
  • Assist with election-related matters and Texas Public Information Act requests.
  • Partner directly with clients and consultants to address legal and operational challenges.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining exceptional client service.
  • Maintain accurate billing and administrative records.
