Job summary

BusPatrol America LLC in Austin, Texas seeks an Associate General Counsel – Commercial to lead government-contracting efforts, design contract templates, and partner with revenue leadership on deal strategy and risk allocation. The role requires JD/LL.M and 12 years of related experience in state/local government contracts.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of commercial contracting experience with a focus on state/local government.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft agreements with state/local government customers (counties, cities, towns, school districts).
• Negotiate and draft vendor agreements with suppliers, manufacturers, and consultants.
• Audit, design, and implement company policies to manage legal risks.
• Provide practical legal advice to sales, finance, leadership, and HR on commercial matters.
• Advise on contract obligations and dispute resolution, portfolio management.
• Navigate state/local procurement laws, terms, and FOIA rules.
• Audit contracts for renewal deadlines and ongoing requirements.
• Assist with RFPs.
• Develop knowledge of BusPatrol’s enforcement tech to support commercial negotiations.
