Job Title: Associate Attorney - General Liability

Job Overview

A prominent law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced, self-driven Associate Attorney to join its General Liability litigation group. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research, writing, and litigation abilities, with a commitment to providing exceptional client service. Duties

1. Conduct file reviews and perform in-depth legal analysis of claims and causes of action
2. Draft substantial legal documents, including briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
3. Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
4. Draft and respond to discovery requests
5. Collaborate with expert witnesses for trial preparation
6. Attend trials and provide trial support
7. Participate in negotiations and mediations
8. Meet an annual billable target of 1,950 hours
9. Some travel may be required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on insurance defense
• Experience handling cases from inception through to resolution
• Proficient in taking and defending depositions, including 30(b)(6) and expert depositions
• Skilled in drafting and arguing motions, and participating in hearings and trials
• Strong negotiation and mediation experience
• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to practice in the state of Florida (additional state admissions are a plus)
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
