  • Delegate and supervise junior associates and paralegal staff.
  • Develop client industry expertise and manage client relationships.

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney with over four years of experience in employment-based immigration law for a position in Washington, D.C. The successful candidate will join a high-volume corporate practice, focusing on H-1B, L-1, TN, and PERM matters, with opportunities to lead a team and manage corporate client relationships.

Duties
  • Counsel clients and oversee a high volume of employment-based immigration cases.
  • Prepare immigration petitions and applications, assessing eligibility and analyzing legal issues.
  • Draft and review H-1B, L-1, TN petitions, and PERM Labor Certification responses.
  • Draft persuasive correspondence to administrative agencies and respond to RFEs.
  • Conduct PERM cycle placement and reduction-in-force analyses.
  • Conduct in-depth research to support cases and projects.
  • Develop an expert understanding of client industries.
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues and support projects.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and foreign nationals on case matters.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Delegate and supervise work of junior associates and paralegal staff.
  • Contribute to the development of practice processes for efficiency.
Requirements
  • J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Bar admission.
  • Prior corporate account management experience.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with a client-friendly focus.
