Preti Flaherty, a leading New England law firm, seeks an experienced associate for its Corporate Group in downtown Portland, ME. You will handle sophisticated transactions and work directly with clients, partners, and lenders, taking ownership of significant pieces of deals.

The ideal candidate has a JD, Maine bar eligibility, 2+ years of corporate experience, and outstanding drafting and communication skills, with strong organizational abilities for complex closings.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong drafting skills.
• Active Maine bar membership or ability to obtain Maine admission within 6–12 months.
• Minimum 2 years of meaningful corporate/transactional experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate sophisticated transactional documents and agreements.
• Manage diligence, closing deliverables, and coordination with clients and opposing counsel.
• Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, and transaction participants to advance matters.
