Job summary

Jobot is seeking a self-driven Business Litigation Associate to manage complex civil and business matters for a prestigious Irvine boutique firm.

This remote role offers a base salary of $165,000–$250,000, quarterly bonuses, optional Newport Beach office space, and 3–9 years of civil/business litigation experience preferred.

You will draft pleadings, take depositions, represent clients in state and federal court, and collaborate with partners on trial strategy.

Qualifications

• Education & License: J.D. from an accredited law school; active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Experience: 3-9 years of active civil or business litigation defense experience.
• Core Skills: Proven track record of court appearances, taking/defending depositions, and drafting dispositive motions.
• Career Stability: Demonstrated job stability with a consistent, strong employment history (no short-tenure job hopping).
• Work Ethic: Strong legal analysis, plain-spoken advocacy, and the ability to manage case files self-sufficiently.

Responsibilities

• Handle civil and business litigation cases from inception through resolution in both state and federal courts.
• Draft persuasive, high-quality pleadings, substantive law and motion practice, summary judgment motions, and appellate briefs.
• Take and defend lay and expert witness depositions independently.
• Represent clients in court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Collaborate directly with partners on trial strategy and file management without heavy corporate bureaucracy.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $165,000 - $250,000 (commensurate with experience).
• Discretionary quarterly bonus structure ($10,000 quarterly bonus opportunity for top performers exceeding 475 billable hours/quarter).
• Fully remote flexibility with dedicated physical office space available in Newport Beach, CA upon request.
