Trueline’s client, a nationally respected litigation firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their Detroit-area team.

This position offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes matters such as automobile negligence, transportation claims, and premises liability, in a collegial, supportive environment with mentorship from experienced trial attorneys.

Responsibilities

1. Manage your own litigation caseload from start to finish, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and court appearances.
2. Collaborate with partners and colleagues to deliver exceptional legal outcomes.
3. Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
4. Interact with clients, experts, and opposing counsel throughout all stages of the case.
5. Participate in mediations, hearings, and trials.
6. Contribute to a hybrid work model with flexibility for remote and in-office collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in Michigan.
• At least 2 years of litigation experience, especially in automobile negligence and PIP/no-fault claims.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex case files independently.
• Proactive, high-quality work commitment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with federal court procedures.
• Exposure to alternative dispute resolution forums.
• Background in transportation or trucking litigation.
