Base pay range

$120,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr

A well-established law firm with offices across Southern California, is seeking a Litigation Associate with minimum 2 years of experience to join the San Diego office. This position involves managing all aspects of civil insurance defense cases, including personal injury, habitability, toxic tort, insurance fraud, and general liability matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle complex case files from inception to resolution.
  • Summarize medical records, third-party documents, and other case materials.
  • Draft and argue briefs, including motions for summary judgment, and other legal motions.
  • Respond to written discovery and conduct legal research.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Represent clients during court appearances, settlement conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution processes.
  • Manage trial preparation and participate in trials (prior trial experience is strongly preferred).
  • Travel as needed to meet case and client demands.

Qualifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar (required).
  • JD from ABA-accredited law school.
  • Preference for prior experience in insurance defense litigation, particularly in personal injury and general liability cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail, superior writing skills, and sharp analytical abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
