Job Description
ADINOLFI, ROBERTO & BURICK, P.A.
Associate Attorney
Family Law | 1–3 Years' Experience | Mount Laurel, New Jersey | Full-Time | $75,000 – $95,000 base
About the Firm
Adinolfi, Roberto & Burick, P.A. is an established matrimonial and family law firm in Mount Laurel, serving clients throughout New Jersey. Our practice focuses exclusively on family law—divorce, custody and parenting time, child and spousal support, equitable distribution, domestic violence, and post-judgment matters.
We are looking for an Associate with one to three years of experience who wants to build a real family law practice. If you want to be in court early, get substantive work rather than document review, and be trained by attorneys who will actually sit down with you, this is the right place.
The Role
You will work directly with our partners and senior associates on active matters, carrying a growing share of your own files as you develop. Expect meaningful mentorship and subsequent responsibility early on.
What You'll Do
- Draft pleadings, motions, certifications, discovery demands and responses, and correspondence across an active family law docket
- Prepare and review Case Information Statements and supporting financial documentation
- Appear at case management conferences, motion hearings, Early Settlement Panels, and domestic violence hearings with appropriate supervision
- Assist partners and senior associates in preparing matters for mediation, plenary hearings, and trial, including exhibit preparation, direct and cross outlines, and witness preparation
- Run child support and alimony calculations and analyze income for support purposes
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on family law issues
- Draft marital settlement agreements, consent orders, and parenting plans under partner supervision
- Handle post-judgment enforcement and modification applications
- Maintain direct, responsive communication with clients and keep files and time entries current in the firm's case management system
- Attend client consultations and, over time, begin developing your own referral relationships
What We're Looking For
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing (Pennsylvania admission is a plus but not required)
- One to three years of legal practice experience; family law experience strongly preferred, though we will consider strong candidates from adjacent litigation practices or a Family Part judicial clerkship
- Familiarity with the New Jersey Court Rules, the Child Support Guidelines, and the alimony and equitable distribution statutes — or the demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly
- Strong, efficient legal writing and the willingness to be edited
- Comfort with numbers — much of family law is financial, and you should not be intimidated by a tax return
- Organization and follow-through: our clients are in the hardest stretch of their lives and they need someone who returns the call
- Discretion, professionalism, and genuine empathy under pressure
- Proficiency with legal research platforms and case management software (MyCase, Clio, or comparable)
Why This Role
- Direct partner mentorship — you will not be buried in a document room
- Early and frequent courtroom exposure in the Family Part
- A clearly defined path to Senior Associate and beyond
- A single-focus practice: you will become a family law attorney, not a generalist
