Job summary

LumenCeler Group in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our boutique litigation team. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of insurance defense experience and a strong interest in developing litigation and trial skills.

This role offers ownership of matters and close collaboration with senior attorneys in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include managing cases, drafting pleadings, preparing for depositions, and negotiating settlements, with on-site work

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas State Bar license.
• 2+ years of insurance defense experience.
• Strong research, writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience handling litigation from inception through resolution.
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Fully onsite in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Analyze legal and factual issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and other parties throughout the litigation process.
• Handle written discovery and assist with all phases of case development.
• Evaluate claims, liability, damages, and potential exposure.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and develop case strategies with senior attorneys.
• Assist with trial preparation and take on increasing responsibility in trial proceedings.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure deadlines and client obligations are met.

A growing boutique litigation firm in Houston, Texas is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to take on meaningful litigation work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while working closely with experienced trial attorneys.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of insurance defense experience and a strong interest in developing their litigation and trial skills. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of matters, work directly with senior attorneys, and gain exposure to a broad range of insurance-related disputes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.

Qualifications

Required

• Active license and good standing with the Texas State Bar
• 2+ years of insurance defense experience
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience handling litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Willingness to work fully onsite in Houston, TX

Preferred

• Experience with civil litigation and insurance-related disputes
• Deposition, mediation, and hearing experience
• Experience drafting dispositive motions and other substantive litigation documents
• Trial experience or strong interest in developing trial skills
• Experience communicating directly with insurance carriers and claims professionals

$130,000 – $160,000 base salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
