This role oversees residential foreclosure matters from assignment through resolution, with exposure to real estate, eviction, bankruptcy, and civil litigation.

The candidate should have strong research, writing, and advocacy skills, be able to manage a caseload, and work within a collaborative legal team. Travel for court appearances may be required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school required.
• Active Georgia Bar admission in good standing.
• 1–4 years of legal experience; foreclosure/real estate litigation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned foreclosure and creditors' rights matters from start to resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, notices of hearing, orders, discovery requests/responses.
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and court rules.
• Develop case strategies and escalate issues as needed.
• Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.
• Review paralegal work and ensure accuracy of case files.
• Maintain and update case information in the firm’s case-management system.
• Communicate with clients about case status, strategy and next steps.
• Stay current on developments affecting foreclosure and creditors' rights.

About the Opportunity

A well-established law firm is seeking a Georgia-licensed Associate Attorney with one to four years of experience to join its foreclosure, creditors' rights, and litigation practice.

The attorney will oversee residential foreclosure and related creditors' rights matters from assignment through resolution. Candidates with experience in foreclosure, creditors' rights, real estate, eviction, bankruptcy, or civil litigation are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload of foreclosure, creditors' rights, and related litigation matters from assignment through conclusion.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, notices of hearing, proposed orders, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, court rules, and other legal authorities.
• Develop case strategies and identify legal issues requiring additional research, review, or escalation.
• Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, oral arguments, and other court proceedings.
• Review work prepared by paralegals and make revisions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and timely case information within the firm’s case-management system.
• Establish and maintain reliable follow-up procedures to ensure filing, service, and court deadlines are met.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding case status, strategy, potential exposure, and recommended next steps.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, court personnel, and other parties to provide responsive, high-quality client service.
• Stay current on legal and regulatory developments affecting foreclosure and creditors' rights matters.
• Travel for court appearances and other business needs when required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active admission to the Georgia Bar in good standing.
• One to four years of legal experience.
• Experience in foreclosure, creditors' rights, real estate, eviction, bankruptcy, or civil litigation is preferred.
• Experience managing litigation matters and participating in courtroom proceedings is beneficial.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral-advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage an active caseload and competing deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, clients, and staff at all levels.
• Strong communication and client-relations skills.
• Self-directed, adaptable, and professionally motivated.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and related applications.
• Experience with electronic case-management systems is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for court appearances when necessary.
