Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our team in Cartersville, Georgia. The Associate Attorney will manage an assigned caseload under the supervision and guidance of senior attorneys.

The role will involve legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, advising clients, preparing legal memoranda, negotiating settlements, and participating in litigation, mediation, and other legal proceedings as required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in law, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload under the supervision of senior attorneys.
• Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, correspondence, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal authorities.
• Prepare legal memoranda, opinions, briefs, and other written work product.
• Provide clear and practical legal advice to clients based on their individual circumstances and objectives.
• Represent clients in negotiations, settlements, mediations, hearings, depositions, and litigation proceedings as appropriate.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal team members.
• Monitor case deadlines, maintain organized case files, and ensure timely completion of assigned matters.
• Develop case strategies and assist senior attorneys with complex legal matters.
• Maintain a strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and procedural requirements.
• Participate in firm initiatives, business development activities, and other responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the Georgia State Bar, or eligibility for prompt admission.
• Strong understanding of legal principles and the ability to interpret and apply statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Knowledge or experience in Family Law is preferred; candidates with a strong interest in developing Family Law expertise will also be considered.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in an on-site environment.
• Prior experience as an attorney, judicial clerk, legal clerk, or relevant legal intern is beneficial.
