Position Overview
FWC has a current opportunity available for a Labor and Employment Attorney. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience in matters involving Employment, Labor Law and PAGA experience and be a current member of the California State Bar from an ABA‑accredited law school. Candidates must possess excellent academic credentials as well as strong organizational, writing, and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a high-volume caseload from inception through resolution.
- Consistently engage in the preparation of client reports, both formal and informal.
- Handle all aspects of litigation, including court appearances, depositions, trial preparation, and legal research.
- Manage written discovery and prepare for depositions.
- Conduct fact investigations, participate in law and motion practice, and interface with expert witnesses.
- Engage in social media investigations relevant to casework.
- Collaborate with team members while also working independently.
Qualifications
- JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in California
- Minimum of 5 years Employment, Labor Law and PAGA experience, preferably defense litigation
- Experience managing written discovery and preparing for depositions
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must possess strong written and analytical skills, as well as be committed to exceptional client service.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to multitask.
- Detail-oriented and strong rapport-building skills.
- Exercising a high degree of initiative, independence, and the ability to meet time frames in performing assigned tasks.
