Job summary

West Coast Trial Lawyers is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Employment Law Department in Downtown Los Angeles. This is ideal for a newly licensed attorney or someone with up to two years of litigation experience seeking a long‑term career in employment law.

You will work closely with a Senior Employment Attorney, handling all phases of employment litigation, including wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, discrimination, and retaliation.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar, or recently passed the California Bar Examination with admission pending.
• 1–2 years of litigation experience preferred.
• Experience in employment law, wage and hour litigation, workers' compensation, personal injury, or other civil litigation is highly preferred.
• Experience with wage and hour matters is a plus but not required.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop under the mentorship of an experienced Senior Employment Attorney.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced litigation environment.
• Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to commute daily to our Downtown Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in handling employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, and correspondence.
• Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses of legal issues.
• Assist with wage and hour litigation and other employment‑related matters.
• Prepare for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trial.
• Attend court appearances, depositions, mediations, and client meetings alongside senior attorneys.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and the court.
• Assist in developing litigation strategy under the supervision of senior attorneys.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal support staff to efficiently manage case progression.

West Coast Trial Lawyers is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing Employment Law Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed attorney or an attorney with up to two years of litigation experience who is looking to develop a long‑term career in employment law.

The Associate Attorney will work closely with a Senior Employment Attorney, assisting with all phases of employment litigation, including wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other employment‑related matters. Candidates with prior experience in employment law, workers' compensation, personal injury, or other civil litigation practice areas are encouraged to apply.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $100,000–$120,000 annually + commission & bonus.
