Qualifications

  • Active Ohio law license required.
  • Eligibility to waive into additional states in our footprint (UBE or reciprocity).
  • 0–3 years’ experience in bankruptcy, collections, civil litigation, or related areas.
  • Knowledge of federal debt collection laws and state civil litigation procedures.
  • Ability to analyze case law and provide clear, well-reasoned recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Our growing regional Creditors’Rights law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to manage legal matters from inception through post-judgment remedies. The ideal candidate will consistently deliver high-quality legal representation, treat all customers with fairness and respect, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respectful, solutions-focused interactions with customers while creating fair, sustainable payment resolutions.

Requirements

Benefits Detail

Brock & Scott, PLLC offers an attractive benefit package to full-time employees on the 1st of the following month of hire. The insurance portion includes medical, dental, voluntary life, voluntary vision, and critical illness, all at competitive rates. At the 90-day introductory period, the Firm also provides a basic life insurance policy in the amount of one time your annual salary (with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $200,000.00) at no cost.

Full-time attorneys receive paid holidays, including six (6) firm-recognized holidays and one (1) Day of Observance, as well as a premium PTO package of 18 days per year. PTO accrues monthly and is credited on the 15th of each month, in accordance with firm policy. PTO benefits increase after 2 years of employment and again after 5 years of employment. After six months of service, employees over the age of 21 become eligible to participate in the firm's 401(k) plan at the beginning of the next quarter.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Employment with Brock & Scott, PLLC is contingent upon the successful completion of all required pre-employment screenings and verifications, which may include, but are not limited to, a criminal background check, conflict of interest check, employment and education verification (as applicable), and a pre-employment drug screening. Drug testing is conducted only after a conditional offer of employment has been extended and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

To be considered for this position, applicants must currently reside within Brock & Scott, PLLC’s geographic footprint. Eligible states include: AL, CT, FL, GA, IN, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, and WV.
