Job summary

Description

The Associate Attorney will support the firm’s legal practice through legal research, case analysis, drafting legal documents, client communication, and representation in legal proceedings as appropriate. This role provides an excellent opportunity for early-career attorneys to gain hands-on experience, develop advocacy and case management skills, and work collaboratively within a fast‑paced legal environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review legal files, records, and case-related documentation
  • Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and analyze applicable statutes, case law, and regulations
  • Manage assigned caseload while ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely completion of work
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and court proceedings as required
  • Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and status updates within firm systems
  • Provide high‑quality legal support and client service in a high‑volume environment
  • Exercise sound judgment and contribute to effective problem‑solving and case strategy
Position Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • 0–3 years of legal experience preferred
  • Licensed and in good standing with the applicable State Bar
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload in a deadline‑driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms, including client systems, email, and telephone
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and exceptional client service
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to work efficiently, manage competing priorities, and multitask
  • Reliable, conscientious, and accountable with respect to work quality, attendance, and deadlines

Benefit Details

Brock & Scott, PLLC offers an attractive benefit package to full‑time employees on the 1st of the following month of hire.The insurance portion includes medical, dental, voluntary life, voluntary vision, and critical illness, all at competitive rates. Atthe 90-day introductory period, the Firm also provides a basic life insurance policy in the amount of one time your annual salary (with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $200,000.00) at no cost.

Full‑time attorneys receive paid holidays, including six (6) firm‑recognized holidays and one (1) Day of Observance, as well as a premium PTO package of 18 days per year. PTO accrues monthly and is credited on the 15th of each month, in accordance with firm policy. PTO benefits increase after 2 years of employment and again after 5 years of employment. After six months of service, employees over the age of 21 become eligible to participate in the firm's 401(k) plan at the beginning of the next quarter.

Pre Employment Statement

Employment with Brock & Scott, PLLC is contingent upon the successful completion of all required pre‑employment screenings and verifications, which may include, but are not limited to, a criminal background check, conflict of interest check, employment and education verification (as applicable), and a pre‑employment drug screening. Drug testing is conducted only after a conditional offer of employment has been extended and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
