Associate Attorney – Landlord‑Tenant (New York)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team, with a focus exclusively on landlord‑tenant matters. This position involves representing landlords and property management companies in the Bronx and Westchester, handling a high-volume caseload in Housing Court.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent landlords and management companies in Housing Court proceedings across Bronx and Westchester counties
- Handle all aspects of landlord‑tenant litigation, including:
- Holdover cases
- Department of Housing Preservation and Development (DHPD) proceedings
- Section 8 matters
- Rent‑stabilized and rent‑controlled cases
- Cases involving squatters
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, stipulations, and discovery materials
- Appear regularly in Housing Court for hearings, conferences, and trials
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Work closely with General Counsel on litigation strategy and case management
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar (or pending admission)
- 0–5 years of experience preferred, particularly in landlord‑tenant or housing law
- Strong legal writing and drafting skills
- Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast‑paced environment
- Prior legal or legal administrative experience is a plus
- Full‑time, in‑office position

- Regular travel to Housing Courts in the Bronx and Westchester required
