Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school
• Bar admission in MA and RI required
• At least 1 year of civil litigation experience

• Strong advocacy, legal research, and drafting motions

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY - Hybrid

Join Morrison Mahoney LLP as a full-time Associate Attorney, working in civil litigation. Areas of focus include professional liability, legal malpractice, architects and engineers, insurance agent/broker liability, real estate professional liability, and insurance coverage. This is an exciting opportunity with 1 to 10 years' civil litigation experience and are eager to tackle complex legal challenges.

A Day in the Life of an Associate Attorney

As a civil litigation Associate Attorney at Morrison Mahoney LLP, your role is dynamic and engaging, offering a perfect mix of independent responsibilities and collaborative teamwork. You will manage your own caseload from inception to resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while meticulously adhering to deadlines. Your days will be enriched by preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, and trials, granting you invaluable courtroom experience. Collaboration is crucial in this role, where you'll engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies. Clear and regular communication with clients will be essential, as you provide them with updates and interim status reports on their cases.

Additionally, you'll conduct in-depth legal research, preparing memoranda to bolster case strategies, while working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management. This multifaceted position promises a fulfilling career path in the legal field.

What Matters Most

To succeed as an Associate Attorney (Civil Litigation) - Boston, MA, you will need a robust set of skills and qualifications.

• A Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to both the Massachusetts and Rhode Island State Bars are required.
• You should possess at least one (1) year of prior civil litigation experience, including experience practicing Massachusetts state and federal courts and Rhode Island courts.
• You should be a self-starter with strong advocacy skills. Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, along with the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial.
• Taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions will also be part of your role, making attention to detail and effective communication are key attributes for success in this position.
