Ideal candidate is detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a passion for exceptional client service. JD, active Ohio Bar in good standing required; familiarity with Ohio procedures is a plus.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Ohio State Bar license in good standing.
  • Indiana or Kentucky bar is a plus.
  • Experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, title, or creditors' rights preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare legal documents for court filing (FDCPA letters, notices, deeds).
  • Represent client interests with strategic counsel to staff and clients.
  • Conduct legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Review court alerts and ensure timely compliance.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and external vendors.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Associate Attorney Position Summary:

Associate Attorneys are responsible for processing and legal work in the following practice areas: foreclosure, bankruptcy, and title. You will represent assigned financial institution clients in loss mitigation and asset recovery service efforts. You are responsible for representing the firm professionally through timeliness and compliant processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

Associate Attorney Job Responsibilities:
  • Draft and prepare legal documents for court filing, including but not limited to: FDCPA Letters, Demand Letters, Notices of Sale, and Sheriff's Deeds.
  • Represent client interests; provide strategic legal counsel to staff and clients on a variety of issues.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Review court alerts and provide compliance guidance in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work cross-functionally with other attorneys, legal assistants, support staff, and external vendors.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) is required from a law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Ohio and in good standing is required.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Indiana and/or State Bar of Kentucky is a plus.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, title, collections, or creditors' rights preferred, but no direct experience required.
  • Knowledge of Ohio court procedures and filing requirements.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.

This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with an average of 40 hours per week. The position may require extended hours and flexible availability outside of the regular business schedule.
