Job summary

Schneiderman & Sherman, P.C. seeks an Associate Attorney to handle foreclosure, bankruptcy, and title matters for financial-institution clients.

You will represent clients in loss mitigation and asset recovery efforts, delivering timely, compliant, professional service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with strong organizational and research/writing skills, and must be admitted to the Kentucky Bar in good standing.

Qualifications

  • JD from a law school is required.
  • Admission to the Kentucky Bar in good standing is required.
  • 1+ year of relevant experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, title, or creditors' rights is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare legal documents for court filing, including but not limited to: foreclosure-related documents.
  • Represent client interests and provide strategic legal counsel to staff and clients.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Review court alerts and provide compliance guidance timely and accurately.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, legal assistants, support staff, and external vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Associate Attorney Position Summary

Associate Attorneys are responsible for processing and legal work in the following practice areas: foreclosure, bankruptcy, and title. You will represent assigned financial institution clients in loss mitigation and asset recovery service efforts. You are responsible for representing the firm professionally through timeliness and compliant processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

Associate Attorney Job Responsibilities
  • Draft and prepare legal documents for court filing, including but not limited to: FDCPA Letters, Demand Letters, Notices of Sale, and Sheriff's Deeds.
  • Represent client interests; provide strategic legal counsel to staff and clients on a variety of issues.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Review court alerts and provide compliance guidance in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work cross-functionally with other attorneys, legal assistants, support staff, and external vendors.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Required Qualifications And Skills
  • Juris Doctor (JD) is required from a law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Kentucky and in good standing is required.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Indiana and/or State Bar of Ohio is a plus.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in any practice area required; 1+ years of relevant experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, title, collections, or creditors' rights preferred.
  • Knowledge of Kentucky court procedures and filing requirements.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.

This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with an average of 40 hours per week. The position may require extended hours and flexible availability outside of the regular business schedule.

Local offices in Blue Ash, Ohio, and Covington, Kentucky. Qualified applicants will be placed in the office most applicable based on state licensure and residential location.
