Role Description

The Associate Attorney will work on a full-time, on-site basis in Annapolis, MD, Day-to-day responsibilities include legal research and analysis, drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents, and providing clear, practical legal advice to clients. The role involves managing case files, assisting with discovery, preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, and trials, and collaborating closely with partners and staff. The Associate Attorney will communicate regularly with clients and opposing counsel, engage in negotiation and settlement discussions, and help ensure that each matter is handled efficiently and professionally.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to clients and stakeholders in a variety of practice areas.
• Proficient in legal research, including use of legal databases, and skilled in drafting well-reasoned legal memoranda and documents.
• Effective negotiation skills for settlements, contracts, and dispute resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, work collaboratively in a team environment, and maintain professional ethics and confidentiality.
• Experience in civil litigation, general practice, or related areas is preferred; judicial clerkship or law firm experience is a plus.
