Qualifications

  • Experience in probate/estate planning, contract drafting, or real estate is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis.
  • Draft and review contracts, motions, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Prepare for hearings, trials, depo­sitions; organize evidence and exhibits.
  • Manage case files and billing with legal case management software.
  • Support attorneys in client consultations with analyses and options.
  • Negotiate settlements or contracts with opposing counsel.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving laws and regulations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across a broad spectrum of legal practice areas, including estate planning, probate, real estate, business law, personal injury, some criminal defense, and additional areas of the law as needed. Your responsibilities will involve conducting legal research, drafting documents, preparing for hearings, trials and depositions, and offering strategic legal counsel to clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in multiple facets of law while contributing to impactful cases and client success. The ideal candidate is motivated, highly organized, and eager to grow within an expanding law practice.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing LexisNexis to support case strategies across various practice areas.
  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, motions, pleadings, and discovery requests with precision and clarity.
  • Assist in hearing and trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witness testimony for court depositions and hearings.
  • Manage case files and billing efficiently using legal case management software to ensure timely updates and compliance with procedural laws.
  • Support attorneys during client consultations by providing detailed legal analysis and clear communication of options.
  • Participate in negotiations with opposing counsel on settlements or contractual agreements to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with evolving laws and regulations affecting clients' interests.
Experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission or eligibility for admission in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Minimum six-months experience in general litigation, including civil or commercial cases, with familiarity in procedural law and court procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with probate and estate planning, contract drafting and litigation, and/or real estate is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform legal research effectively
  • Prior law office experience involving client communication, case management, and legal writing is preferred.
  • Strong skills in negotiation, trial preparation, legal motion drafting, and courtroom procedures.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise legal documents under tight deadlines.
