Job summary

Northern Kentucky University is seeking a Sr. Associate Athletics Director to join the Intercollegiate Athletics leadership team.

You will serve as sport administrator for assigned sports, help develop program budgets, and coordinate schedules, travel, and events to maximize efficiency and performance. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of athletics administration experience, with Division I experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve on the Executive Leadership/Senior Staff on the Intercollegiate Athletics management team; develop/implement policies to maximize efficiency and performance of athletics facilities and events.
• Manage and complete special projects as assigned by the Vice President and Director of Athletics.
• Act as sport administrator for assigned sports; assist coaches in budgeting and scheduling; negotiate team guarantees and travel; coordinate rescheduling as needed.
• Attend home and, when possible, out-of-town events; promote visibility at student-athlete educational programming; mentor staff and support professional development.

Position Title: Sr. Associate Athletics Director

Position Type: Regular

About the Role: Serves as a member of the Executive Leadership/Senior Staff on theIntercollegiate Athletics management team; serves as sportadministrator for assigned sports.

• Serves as a member of the Executive Leadership/Senior Staff onthe Intercollegiate Athletics management team; develops andimplements policies to maximize efficiency and performance ofathletics facilities and events; manages and completes specialprojects as assigned by the Vice President and Director ofAthletics;
• Serves as sport administrator for assigned sports; aids coachesin the development, preparation, and administration of programbudgets; monitors continual effective staff communication;advocates for coaches and sports programs; provides assistance tocoaching staff as required; negotiates and/or reviews teamguarantee agreements and travel schedules; adjusts schedules asnecessary to arrange for required re-scheduling as conditionswarrant; attends home events; attends out-of-town events and otherassigned programs as time permits or conditions warrant
• Be visible at various student-athlete educational programmingevents
• Works collaboratively with other units and sports programswithin Intercollegiate Athletics. Mentors staff and aids inproviding professional development
• Develops and maintains working relationships with universityofficials, athletics league/conference, NCAA officers, officialsfrom other universities, community leaders, and donors. Representativesathletics in various committees as appointed

Bachelor's degree and 5 years years of sport oversight andathletics administration experience; strong communication andinterpersonal skills. Division I experience preferred.
