Location: Can be located in any county within Carolinas: Winston Salem, Greensboro, Hillsborough/Chapel Hill, Salisbury, Lexington, and Statesville.

Job Summary:

This position manages, inspects, and protects designated portions of approximately 33,000 miles of transmission corridors to ensure compliance with AP guidelines. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, reviewing technical drawings, legal involvement, removing encroachments, and participating in legal proceedings.

Responsibilities:
  • Resolve encroachments and Helicopter Reports.
  • Negotiate with customers and communicate Duke's legal rights.
  • Engage in court actions and testify as needed.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings for compliance.
  • Meet with various stakeholders to resolve encroachment issues.
  • Prepare official correspondence and document interactions.
  • Train and mentor new employees.
  • Engage with community and government agencies for compliance and outreach.
  • Assist with escalated projects and coordinate legal documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines or High School/GED with experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Desired Skills:
  • Project management, GIS, utility experience, communication, leadership, negotiation, and technical skills.
Additional Preferences:
  • Knowledge of AP impact on safety and reliability, experience with geo-spatial systems, and ability to work independently.
Working Conditions & Requirements:
  • Field environment, valid driver's license, travel 5-15%.
