Purpose and Job Summary

The Associate will perform loan servicing activities within the GSE Asset Management – Agency Risk team, monitoring loan performance and collateral condition to mitigate default risks. This role involves ensuring compliance with loan terms and government agency guidelines, collaborating with colleagues and external parties to address operational issues, and managing post-closing requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform loan surveillance for student, seniors, and multifamily housing, maintaining detailed documentation and analyzing financials.
• Manage a portfolio of up to 20 loans, including nonperforming assets.
• Process and document post-closing transactions like property management changes, collateral releases, assumptions, and transfers.
• Coordinate loan payoff processes and work with internal teams and agencies for approvals.
• Participate in loan workout activities with stakeholders including borrowers and legal counsel.
• Conduct MBA property inspections and monitor repairs.
• Collaborate professionally with team members and handle other assigned duties.

Travel Requirements

Approximately 25% travel expected.

Minimum Requirements

• Over 3 years of relevant analyst experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Pass the MBA inspection certification and shadow at least 10 inspections.
• Understanding of multifamily real estate, loss mitigation, and loan lifecycle functions.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and reconcile financial transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or CMBS loans in special servicing.
• Knowledge of agency servicing guides and loan agreements.
