Job summary

CHC Hydro is seeking an Associate Collections Specialist in Hayward, CA for a full-time on-site role. You will handle past-due collections, cash posting, lien releases, and account reconciliations under the Credit & Collections Manager.

Strong accounting and customer-service skills are essential. The position involves partnering with Sales and clients to resolve billing issues, managing portals, and supporting annual audits.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years of credit & collections OR general accounting experience.
• 3 years of fast-paced customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Salesforce / FinancialForce (or similar apps).

Responsibilities

• Collection & Account Monitoring: assist with past-due collections and customer outreach.
• Cash Posting & Lien Releases: post payments, issue lien releases, investigate discrepancies.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: partner with Sales and external clients to resolve billing issues.

The Opportunity

As an Associate Collections Specialist, you will play a key role in CHC’s accounting and cash flow operations. Reporting to the Credit & Collections Manager, you’ll handle high-impact tasks like cash posting, lien releases, account reconciliations, and proactive customer outreach.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

• Collection & Account Monitoring: Assist with past-due collections, monitor assigned account ages, and make high-volume customer calls and emails.
• Cash Posting & Lien Releases: Issue lien releases, resolve discrepancies, and accurately post daily payments while investigating short payments or missed invoices.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner directly with Sales, Inside Sales, and external clients to resolve account inquiries and billing issues.
• Portals & Financial Support: Manage billing through customer portals, handle account reconciliations, post journal entries, and support annual financial audits.

What We’re Looking For

Education

Requirements (Must-Haves)

High school diploma.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of credit & collections OR general accounting experience.

Technical Skills

Minimum 3 years of fast-paced customer service experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Salesforce / FinancialForce (or similar apps).
