Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in the United States is seeking an Associate Application Engineer to support the Arrester Business Unit by delivering technical and commercial support for high voltage surge arresters.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer requirements are met with technically sound and cost-effective solutions, while also supporting product development and customer training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
  • 0–3 years of experience in applications or design engineering, preferably in the power or utility sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for customer support and field activities.
  • Knowledge of grid modernization trends.
  • Involvement in IEEE/IEC/CIGRE technical committees is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and analyze customer specifications to recommend appropriate surge arrester offerings.
  • Provide technical support to sales, marketing, and customers for all product lines of high voltage surge arresters.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, datasheets, and application notes.
  • Support product testing, validation, and troubleshooting in collaboration with design and quality teams.
  • Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and provide technical training sessions.
  • Stay current with industry standards (IEEE, IEC, ANSI) and contribute to internal compliance efforts.
  • Analyze and compare current offerings to competition
  • Complete Product Plan activities to drive new product development and streamline current product offerings.
  • Collaborate with product management, R&D and design engineering on new product development and enhancements.
