Job summary

Virginia Tech is seeking two Associate Application Analysts to join our Enterprise Systems team, supporting HR or Finance applications. You will analyze business processes, partner with stakeholders, and help design, test, implement, and maintain enterprise solutions that power payroll, finance, and HR operations.

The role offers growth in enterprise applications, system integration, reporting, and application support, with mentorship from experienced analysts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to analyze business processes and identify improvements.
• Foundational knowledge of HR, payroll, or finance processes or ability to learn quickly.
• Familiarity with relational databases and basic SQL.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience scripting or coding in Java, Groovy, Python, .NET, PL/SQL, SAS, or SQR.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing business processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
• Partner with HR, Payroll or Finance stakeholders to support design, testing, implementation, and maintenance of solutions.
• Apply developing technical skills to support applications, integrations, reporting, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Assist in documenting procedures, processes, and system functionality with clear communication.
• Work collaboratively across functional and technical teams; proceed with guidance from experienced staff.
• Work independently while receiving mentorship from analysts and technical staff.
