Virginia Tech is seeking two Associate Application Analyst to join our Enterprise Systems team supporting either Human Resources Applications or Finance Applications. These teams support, develop, and integrate application software systems and enterprise data that power critical university administrative operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to analyze business processes.
• Foundational understanding of human resources, payroll, finance, or other administrative business processes, or ability to learn quickly.
• Familiarity with relational databases and basic knowledge of SQL.
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience developing scripts, code, or reports using languages such as Java, Groovy, Python, .NET, PL/SQL, SAS, or SQR.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing business processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.
• Partner with HR, Payroll, or Finance stakeholders to design, test, implement, and maintain solutions that solve business challenges.
• Apply developing technical skills to support applications, integrations, reporting, data analysis, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Assist in documenting procedures, processes, and system functionality while ensuring clear communication across stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues across functional and technical teams.
• Work independently while receiving guidance and mentorship from experienced analysts and technical staff.
