Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Intake Coordinator support role to assist students with questions about Student Accessibility Services, eligibility, and documentation requirements. You will help recommend accommodations and train students, faculty, and staff on navigating the disability management system.

You will ensure timely note-taking support, monitor the process, and collaborate with college personnel. You’ll also review system functionality and support admission and financial aid processes.

Qualifications

  • Two years related work experience
  • Knowledge of college admissions procedures, programs, and courses
  • Knowledge of multicultural education programs and systems
  • Knowledge of student database systems
  • Knowledge of physical and mental disabilities and possible accommodations
  • Knowledge of disability services organizations and functions
  • Familiarity with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the ADAAA of 1990 and amendments
  • Familiarity with adaptive technology
  • Ability to maintain an established work schedule
  • Ability to effectively communicate with persons with disabilities
  • Ability to use interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to use organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to comply with departmental guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to disseminate complex information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to use spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software

Responsibilities

  • Support the intake coordinator by assisting students with questions regarding Student Accessibility Services, eligibility, and documentation requirements
  • Recommend appropriate accommodations to a supervisor or designee
  • Train students, faculty, and staff on navigating and using the disability management system
  • Ensure eligible students receive note-taking support in a timely manner; communicate with faculty and monitor the process
  • Review disability management system functionality and recommend improvements
  • Monitor student academic progress and use of approved accommodations
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with college personnel and local agencies
  • Refer students to ACC departments and outside agencies as appropriate
  • Provide information about enrollment, admissions, financial aid, assessment, advising, course selection, registration, majors, transfer information, and TSI
  • Document student sessions and input data into collegewide systems including Degree Map, AIM, and Daisy
  • Reply to emails and telephone calls within 24 hours
  • Prepare and co-facilitate workshops and seminars supporting recruitment and retention of students with disabilities
  • Request, secure, and convert tests and proctor SAS Testing Center exams while maintaining test integrity
  • Present new student orientation and participate in transition projects for students with disabilities
  • Participate in campuswide or districtwide committees
  • Assist with financial aid application, award, and administration
