  • Accreditation and survey readiness experience.

  • Assist in developing and managing departmental and organizational budgets.
  • Monitor revenues, expenses, labor costs, supply utilization, and productivity metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for cost containment and operational efficiencies.
  • Participate in financial forecasting, strategic planning, and capital expenditure processes.
  • Promote a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management.

Job description

The Associate Administrator serves as a key member of the hospital leadership team and supports the Chief Executive Officer in the overall management and operation of the hospital. The Associate Administrator is responsible for overseeing daily operations, strategic initiatives, regulatory compliance, financial performance, physician relations, patient satisfaction, and departmental coordination to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient healthcare services.

This role provides leadership and operational oversight across clinical and non-clinical departments while supporting organizational goals, quality outcomes, employee engagement, and business growth.

Position Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Assist the CEO in directing the day-to-day operations of the hospital.
  • Oversee departmental performance to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to improve workflows, patient throughput, and resource utilization.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Lead special projects related to facility growth, service line development, and operational improvement.
  • Assist in developing and managing departmental and organizational budgets.
  • Monitor revenues, expenses, labor costs, supply utilization, and productivity metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for cost containment and operational efficiencies.
  • Participate in financial forecasting, strategic planning, and capital expenditure processes.
Quality and Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
  • Support accreditation readiness and compliance efforts, including CIHQ, CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and state licensing requirements.
  • Promote a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
Leadership and Human Resources
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to department directors and managers.
  • Assist in recruitment, retention, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
  • Participate in employee relations and performance management activities.
Physician and Community Relations
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with physicians, medical staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Support physician recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives.
  • Represent the hospital at community events, networking functions, and professional organizations as required.
Strategic Planning
  • Support the CEO and executive leadership team in implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and service opportunities.
  • Assist in developing business plans and growth strategies for new programs and services.
  • Champion patient-centered care throughout the organization.
  • Monitor patient satisfaction metrics and implement initiatives to improve the patient experience.
  • Respond to escalated patient concerns and service recovery opportunities when appropriate.
Qualifications
Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or related healthcare field.
Experience Preferred:
  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare leadership experience.
  • Experience managing hospital operations, physician practices, emergency services, ambulatory services, or healthcare service lines.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with budgeting, operational management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in acute care hospital, micro-hospital, critical access hospital, or freestanding emergency room settings.
  • Accreditation and survey readiness experience.
