Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is seeking an intelligent actuary for the Workers' Compensation Pricing team in Idaho.

The role focuses on profitability analytics, rate indications, and cross-functional collaboration with Product and Modeling teams to drive strategic pricing decisions. The ideal candidate holds ACAS or is pursuing FCAS, with 4+ years in P&C, WC pricing experience preferred, and strong Excel/SQL capabilities.

Qualifications

• ACAS or pursuing FCAS and strong progress toward FCAS.
• 4+ years of property-casualty commercial lines insurance experience.
• Worker's Compensation pricing experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
• Proficient with Excel; knowledge of SQL, R or Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive profitability by calculating aggregate state rate indications.
• Analyze profitability and identify opportunities and challenges.
• Recommend rate changes balancing profitability and growth.
• Provide actuarial support for rate filings compliant with state regs.
• Communicate results to Product and partners to gain consensus on action.
• Develop dashboards to track Workers' Compensation results.
• Track economic trends and benchmarks.
• Price large, high deductible and excess WC accounts.
• Participate in actuarial research, planning, and reinsurance pricing.
• Support crossline sales and pricing initiatives; collaborate with Modeling team.

Overview

We are growing and looking for an intelligent, forward-thinking, and motivated team member to join the Workers Compensation Actuarial Pricing team at AmTrust. If you're an ACAS (or near) and excited to work on a collaborative team, solving problems, building strategy, and getting stuff done at a top workers compensation carrier, this is the place for you.

Responsibilities

Drive Profitability

• Calculate aggregate state rate indications
• Analyze state profitability at a segmented level and Identify areas of opportunity and challenge
• Recommend rate changes or other actions that will provide the right balance between profitability and growth.
• Provide actuarial support for quick rate filing approvals, ensuring rate filings are compliant with state regulations
• Communicate results and insights to Product and other business partners to gain consensus on a go-forward plan of action

Performance Monitoring

• Develop, enhance, and maintain dashboards to track Workers' Compensation results
• Track relevant economic trends and industry benchmarks
• Price large, high deductible and excess Workers Compensation accounts

Additional Contributions

Qualifications

• BS, BA or higher degree
• ACAS or close and pursual of FCAS
• 4+ years of property-casualty commercial lines insurance experience
• Workers Compensation pricing experience is strongly preferred
• Strong analytical and communication skills are a must
• Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, and SQL. R or Python knowledge is a plus
