The Financial Management Division (FMD), within CDPH's Administration Division, is responsible for the preparation, analysis, and management of the Department's budget; the maintenance of accounting records and financial data; and acting as the liaison with the Department of Finance (DOF), the Legislative Analyst's Office, Legislative Budget staff, and the Federal government on budget and fiscal matters affecting the Department. FMD is located in downtown Sacramento in the East End Complex across from the beautiful State Capitol Park and World Peace Rose Garden. Job Description And Duties

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by performing highly complex fiscal activities and professional accounting work that includes daily draws, monthly and quarterly reconciliations, and semiannual and annual financial reporting for over ten grants. The Associate Accounting Analyst (AAA) performs highly complex analysis and research to resolve various complex accounting issues using multiple automated accounting systems and procedures. This position may act as Lead in the unit.

In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.
