We are seeking an Associate Accountant to join a specialty insurance company built on experience. This remote position, with a preference for candidates in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, involves tasks such as accounts payable, receivables, expense report processing, journal entries, reconciliation, research, and month-end close. Upland Capital Group, Inc., an AM Best rated A- VIII insurer based in Dallas, Texas, offers specialty insurance products across various markets.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Processing the company's accounts payable
• Recording and paying expense reports
• Preparing and reconciling premium cash receipts
• Assisting with journal entries
• Preparing and recording cash deposits
• Collaborating with other departments regularly

Additional duties:

• Preparing journal entries for daily and monthly transactions
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts
• Maintaining and updating procedures for assigned tasks
• Performing other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Knowledge of a major general ledger system
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational skills

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent (preferred)
• Two years of accounting experience, including full-cycle AP, or equivalent

• Pay Range: $45,000 - $65,000 / year
