Job summary

CFS is seeking an Assistant Controller for its Ball Ground, GA manufacturing operation. This fully onsite role leads month-end close, journal entries, accruals, revenue recognition, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations.

You will partner with operations, IT, and shared services to improve processes, support audits, and strengthen internal controls. The position requires 5+ years in manufacturing accounting and strong GAAP expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• ERP systems experience and advanced Excel skills required; Power BI a plus.
• Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee journal entries, accruals, revenue recognition, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
• Support audit activities by coordinating documentation and responding to requests.
• Collaborate with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to ensure proper processing.
• Drive continuous process improvements to strengthen internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• As the Assistant Controller, oversee journal entries, accruals, revenue recognition, fixed asset accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support audit activities by coordinating documentation, preparing schedules, and responding to auditor requests.
• Partner with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to ensure accurate transaction processing and timely resolution of issues.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing accounting experience required.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar accounting leadership role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience working with ERP systems required.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; Power BI experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
